Refer a Friend Program Terms and Conditions
Eligibility: Offer is valid for the selected accountholder referenced in this email and may not be transferred. Accountholder at Democracy Federal Credit Union must be in good standing with an open and active status at the time of the referral eligibility to qualify and receive the gift card incentive. Referred person(s) must be at least 21 years old and meet eligibility requirements to qualify for the incentive. Engaging in the referral program implies your consent to share that you're a Democracy Federal Credit Union member with your referred friend.
How the Program Works: This offer is valid for referrals made between October 29, 2025 – January 12, 2026. Qualified Democracy Federal Credit Union accountholders are eligible to receive a $50 gift card for up to five (5) eligible referrals. Each eligible referral is subject to the terms and conditions outlined below. By a referred friend completing eligibility requirements, qualified Democracy Federal Credit Union accountholders will receive a $50 gift card reward, and the referred friend will receive a $50 gift card reward. The referred friend must not be an existing member of Democracy Federal Credit Union.
For a referral to be considered eligible, the accountholder must make their referral by entering their friend’s full name and email address within the Refer-a-Friend program landing page. After submitting, your referred friend will receive an email notification informing them of your referral to Democracy Federal Credit Union. The email will detail the eligible referral action(s) needed to be completed by your referred friend for qualification. The referred friend must complete one (1) or more of the eligible referral actions October 29, 2025 – January 12, 2026 to qualify for the $50 gift card reward. Each referred person(s) can qualify for a maximum of one $50 gift card during the campaign period. The promotional incentive remains one $50 gift card, even if the referred person(s) qualifies for multiple eligible referral actions. Eligibility for the $50 gift card reward for the referrer and the referred friend is contingent upon the approval of the referred friend’s application and/or meeting of Democracy Federal Credit Union’s underwriting requirements. Each referral’s actions are subject to approval and verification by Democracy Federal Credit Union for eligibility.
Eligible Referral Actions: To qualify for the $50 gift card incentive, the referred friend must complete one of the following eligible referral actions from October 29, 2025 – January 12, 2026. Each referred person is eligible for one (1) promotion incentive. Each member is eligible to receive a maximum of five (5) promotion incentives, valued at $50 in gift card incentives.
New Certificate of Deposit: To qualify for the promotional incentive, the referred friend must open a new Certificate of Deposit with an original balance of $5,000 or more and a term of 12 months or greater by January 12, 2026. APY = Annual Percentage Yield. The APY quoted in this communication is accurate as of October 1, 2025. A penalty will be imposed for early withdrawal. New Checking Account: To qualify for the promotion incentive, the referred friend must set up a new Democracy Federal Credit Union checking account and receive a direct deposit of $500 or more into the newly opened checking account between October 29, 2025 – January 12, 2026. Account opening and direct deposit transactions will be verified by Democracy Federal Credit Union. Referred friend is eligible for a new checking account if membership eligibility and qualifying criteria are met. The checking account is subject to account opening requirements. The accountholder and the referred friend are each eligible for one $50 gift card if qualifying criteria are met.
New Loan: To qualify for the promotional incentive, the referred friend must open a new qualified Personal Loan or Auto Loan at Democracy Federal Credit Union with an original balance of ten thousand ($10,000) or more between October 29, 2025 – January 12, 2026. Financing must be direct with Democracy Federal Credit Union. Rates effective as of October 1, 2025. Rates and terms are subject to change based on market conditions and borrower eligibility. Loan approval is subject to an evaluation of applicant credit and income. Applicant’s loan must be funded and booked to qualify. The accountholder and the referred friend are each eligible for one $50 gift card if qualifying criteria are met.
Gift Card Redemption: By completing a qualified referral, selected Democracy Federal Credit Union accountholder and the referred friend will receive a $50 gift card redemption link. The promotion redemption instructions will be issued and sent by mail within 4-6 weeks following the conclusion of the offer period (January 12, 2026). The gift card redemption link will expire 75 days from issuance. One redemption code equals one $50 gift card.

Democracy Federal Credit Union strictly prohibits the use of unsolicited or unauthorized emails in our Refer-a-Friend program. By submitting an email address as part of the Refer-a-Friend Program, the Referrer represents that they have the appropriate permission and consent. Bulk email distribution, distribution to strangers, or any other use of the services in a manner that is not promoted is expressly prohibited and may be grounds for legal action. Participation implies a commitment to promoting Democracy Federal Credit Union’s services responsibly, and any violation of our anti-spam policy may result in the disqualification from the program and potential legal consequences.
Right to Cancel, Modify or Terminate: Democracy Federal Credit Union reserves the right to modify or terminate the Referral Program at any time. Democracy Federal Credit Union reserves the right to disqualify any selected accountholder at any time from participation in the Program if the accountholder does not comply with any of these Terms.
By participating in Democracy Federal Credit Union’s Refer-a-Friend Program, you acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions. Participation in Democracy Federal Credit Union’s Refer-a-Friend program is voluntary. Democracy Federal Credit Union reserves the right to interpret and enforce these terms and conditions.
